A rainscreen is an exterior wall detail where the siding (or other cladding) stands off from the surface of the water-resistive barrier (WRB) in order to create a capillary break and allow drainage and drying. Water that penetrates the cladding is allowed to drain freely and diverted out of the wall. With a rainscreen, an air space is created which promotes drying behind the cladding.

Used behind stucco, manufactured stone, thin natural stone or brick and siding to provide an assured airspace for drainage and ventilation. The material fabric is a breathable, nonwoven fabric that faces away from the sheathing providing a minimum of ¼ inch of airspace to allow moisture to drain down and out of the wall.
A rollable furring strip that creates a rainscreen and venting system behind wood and fiber-cement siding. Can be rolled on to the wall and easily cut to length. It’s a 4-inch wide, 10mm thick and 25 foot long product made out of high strength nylon.
Is a self-adhering flashing and waterproofing membrane that provides an air & vapor barrier for full wall or flashing applications in masonry, wood, or gypsum construction. These highly adhesive membrane products ensure air and vapor protection. It is impermeable to air, moisture vapor, & water & has excellent adhesion to concrete, galvanized metal, steel, plywood & gypsum. Driwall Membrane is highly resistant to punctures and tears & comes in two thicknesses: 40 mil & 60 mil. A solution for multi-family balconies and breezeways.
A metal lath and drainage plane system that provides a continuous drainage plane between the lath and weather resistant barrier. Promotes full lath encapsulation without clogging the drainage plane.
For residential or multifamily project, MortarNet™ suspends mortar droppings above the flashing and weeps so they stay clear and unobstructed. It’s patented insect barrier helps deter insects from entering the cavity.
WallDefender suspends mortar droppings above the flashing and weeps so they stay clear and unobstructed. Available in various colors.
Made of durable polypropylene and comes in many colors. Helps ensure that moisture can migrate out and air can circulate into the cavity, and that insects can’t enter the weep holes. Available in various colors.
90% open-weave polyester mesh that helps ensure moisture can migrate out and air can circulate into the cavity, and that insects can’t enter the weep holes.
Is a 40-mil, polyethylene blend peel-and-stick flashing membrane with applications to masonry, concrete, steel, gypsum, and wood. When the use of prefabricated accessories is not feasible, MortarFlash™ Non-Asphaltic can be used to create inside and outside corners.
A patented complete, factory-assembled masonry cavity wall flashing system that cuts labor costs and install times to provides better performance than standard through wall flashing. It combines a flashing membrane with a mortar dropping collection drainage mat, weep tabs, drip edge and termination bar into a single, easy-to-install panel. Suitable for use at all flashing locations, including base of wall, above exterior wall openings and bond beams, in parapet walls, and wherever flashing is desirable.
A complete, embeddable flashing solution for managing moisture in exterior single wythe CMU walls. It uses patented flashing pans to collect moisture in the wall and channel it to the exterior through integrated weep spouts. Its included drainage mesh provides hundreds of clear pathways for water to flow around mortar droppings inside the block cells so it can be collected by the pans.
Installed over DuPont™ Tyvek® weather barrier. Polypropylene construction makes the battens more durable and less susceptible to water damage than wood furring strips. The ventilated air space created between exterior cladding and wall sheathing allows air circulation vertically and horizontally, to help ventilate the air space to enhance drying and form a capillary break from sheathing.
